About Me

Hi, was in Bermondsey in June on holiday from Scotland,so did the tourist bit and paid visit to The Vic, myself and my sister had lunch and nice chat with the Landlord,(sorry cant remember your name) We were brought(or dragged up) in Guinness Buildings,I left in 1961 to live inn Southend, then Scotland. My sister Janet,Brother Ray and Mum (Annie Hamilton)left in 1965. It was great seeing the old haunts again, and  at times quite emotional Tower Bridge Road had not changed much,we stood on the spot where my Gran had her market stall in the 50's and 60's,she was known as Old Kate, also had a Sunday Stall outside the Swan Pub facing Pages Walk. I am looking for any old photos of Bermondsey, have some of  the old Guinness bBuildings,we like some of the Trocette and Globe cinemas, and any of Tower Bridge Road.I have an older Brother called Bobby,he used to sing in the local pubs, The Kings Arms, The Thomas Becket, and the Drovvers.hope to hear from someone who knew the Bermondsey I did,I am now 70,so do hope somewhere out there has some memories to share.Oh ye,I had photo taken holding the door, which used to be the old Jug Bar, where I used to get my Mums brown ale, and 5 woodbines.Bye  for now.
