Hi Mike, yes i knew Vine St Flats,i was an apprentice at Hays Wharf, and often used to cut through there..I expect you knew of the Jenkins Family. We used to go with Tommy, the Younger one.His brother was in quite a bit of trouble over the D'antiquis Shooting in Hatton Garden..Sad for Tom.We all used to belong to the CUM in Bermondsey...We used to have a drink in The Vine Pub,and a Game of darts on Sundays. When i was an apprentice, working at Mark Browns,i used to have to queue up for the Horrible Charge Hands Fags at Mallandains the Fag Shop, remember them .I dropped them in a Puddle once, and spent ages trying to dry them out...but it didnt work,Horrible git threatened to throw me in the River ..

Yes Paul.i think Tommy is a bit out there, you are quite right about the Police Station,Tower Bridge, and the Sally Anne in Spa Road.....I do Remember the Billboard that he refers to on the corner of Bermondsey St.opposite what was left of Feavers Metal Box company.I remember one particular Star that had a Lovely Picture on it,it was Kay Starr, one of my Favs, and still is.She sang"Wheel of Fortune",a great Hit in the Fifties.
