DVD Proper Nosh Innit? A film by Michael Holland

A Film by Michael Holland.  This film tells the story of pie 'n' mash from its earliest beginnings to the present day and future.

It is told by pie men from some of the industry's foremost pie shop dynasties around London (Cooke's, Manze's, Goddard's) by the President of the Pie & Mash Club of Great Britain and, of course, by some of the punters themselves.

The pie men tell of secret recipes handed down through the family; of pie 'n' mash's importance to the community; of modern fast food competitions and where the future lies.  The customers tell of their love for pie 'n' mash.

I made this film with some friends because other than in a few hard to come by books, not many people know the history of Londoners' traditional fare.  And rarely through the words of those pie man and their families who keep the tradtion going.  This is a unique film and only seen by people in the community cantres around Bermondsey and Rotherhithe where the fild was screened some time ago.  They loved it.
