Heather Walker has lived in Bermondsey since 1983, her
biography of JEF is her first non-fiction work. She has published,
articles, poetry (many of her poems are set in Bermondsey) and
four novels. As well as her writing she is secretary of SILA (Sarcoidosis
and Interstitial Lung Association)* and works from home. SILA has no
office of its own.
* Jonathan Hutchinson (1828 -1913) first described the symptoms associated
with what was to be known as sarcoidosis, in 1869 at King's
College Hospital,Denmark Hill, SE5 (where SILA now holds
support meetings) to this day nobody knows how this disease is
acquired and there is no known medical cure. It affects all races and all
ages.
